01 DAY- PUERTO MALDONADO - TAMBOPATA.

We leave very early from Puerto Maldonado or we can pick you up at your hotel, we will have 2 hours by road in van 4X4, until you reach the Tambopata River, near the limit of the reserve of tambopata. Where our boat will be waiting for us to take us 25 minutes along the Tambopata River to reach our Lodge, we will have good chances to see capybaras and many birds along the Tambopata river, arriving at the lodge we will get a drink of Welcome and the manager gave us everything we need to know about our lodge and its surroundings will explain. After a lunch we will go for an shore walk for the first time in a secondary  forest and then in a primary forest full of huge trees and vines, at the same time, let's talk about the most important economic activities of this region. The chances of spotting some capuchin monkeys and monkeys, night additivity. Night in the lodge with Bathrooms and showers available.

 

02 DAY – MACAW CLAY LICK- SANDOVAL LAKE.

We wake up very early, at 4.30am to go to the largest macaw clay lick in the world, (collpa chuncho) in a trip of approximately 1:30 hours by boat, the trip will have the opportunity to see some species such as ronsocos el The largest rodent in the world, sachavacas, and felines like jaguars, once we arrive at macaws we will see hundreds of parrots of different species that come to eat the clay from the river wall, we camouflage ourselves in a strategic place to see the show Natural world of the birdlife. They are 03 species of macaws more colorful of america like the scarlet macaw (ara macaw), the green and red macaw (ara chloropterus), the yellow-bellied macaw (ara ararauna), gather to eat the necessary clay in their daily diet and Eliminate toxins, hopefully see a good activity of an unforgettable experience. After this activity we will return towards Lake Sandoval where we will appreciate the most beautiful landscape of the lake with many birds and mammals where our hostel is, after a break we will go to the lake in a canoe to watch the sunset and then nightlife to see Alligators and tarantulas. Night ecolodge, bathrooms and showers available.

 

03 DAY-  SANDOVAL LAKE – BRAZIL NUT TRAIL – MONKEY TRAIL AND CAIMAN SEARCH  NIGHT.

Very early in the morning we will row around Lake Sandoval in a wooden canoe trying to see the giant river otters (the biggest in the world), one of the most important protected species in the lake and considered flagship species. Giant otters live in small and very territorial family groups and feeds on fish around the lake in  the early morning. They can eat up to 4 kilos of fish a day.  We will return to the Lodge for the breakfast and a brief rest.  We will leave the lodge and we will go for a walk in the terra firme forest learning more about the medicinal plants and diurnal mammals such as monkeys, wild cats, peccaries and birds like toucans and macaws. We will also learn about the ecology of the Brazil nut tree or chestnut tree that is considered an umbrella species, because it helps to protect other flora and fauna of the region.   We will return to the Lodge for lunch and nap time.  In the afternoon we will take the canoe around Lake Sandoval again, this time to look for monkeys (cappuccinos, squirrels, red howler), herons, kingfishers, cormorants, and shanshos that live and feed in the forest around the lake. In the evening on our way  back to the lodge, using our flashlights we will be able to see the reflection of the eyes of the black caiman that usually hunt at night along the shore of the lake. We will approach them to take photos and we will talk about their natural history.   We will return to the Lodge for dinner and to spend the night.

 

DAY 4.-SANDOVAL LIKE- GAMITANA RIVER (fishing).

After our breakfast we will go on an expeditions to the terra firme forest for more than 6 hours, taking with us a box lunch of tipical food from Amazonian rainforest ,where we will try to observe some flora species like the strilizea forest, brasil nut, reaching the briolo or gamitana river where we will practice sport fishing to try to catch the famous piranhas then way back to the lodge. In the night opcional night activities.

 

05 DAY- SANDOVAL LIKE - ADVENTURE – PUERTO MALDONADO - AIRPORT.

Very early after breakfast we will leave the Tambopata National Reserve taking the same road back to the entrance to the port of Sandoval on the Madre de Dios River, from where our boat will take us 15 minutes down the river to visit the canopy walk-way. We are going to climb a platform in a tower of more than 27 meters in height; From there we will cross the 89 meters long canopy walk-way to another platform at a height of 37 meters. We will not prepare for the Zip line and for an extreme adrenaline rush. We will put on our protective gear (helmet, harness, gloves) before jumping and sliding down a 190 meter long cable in a few seconds, flying like a bird. We will return to Puerto Maldonado. After returning to pack your luggage, the guide will take you to the airport. End of our services.
